Where Do Rainbows Come From?
Ah...something children, nature photographers, and proponents of Prop 8 often wonder! As it turns out, rainbows are made when raindrops refract or bend sunlight and reflect the colors back to you. Each of the seven colors that make up white light (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet) is bent at a different angle when the light hits a drop of water, so the seven colors show up separately!
How Far Is It From The Earth To The Moon?
Because the moon's orbit is elliptical, the distance varies. However, the average answer to this question is 238,857 miles (384, 392 kilometers). Give or take, of course.
Who Do You Think You Are?
A deeply philosophical question, to be sure. In short, though, the answer is "me."
How Do You Remove A Coffee Stain From Clothing?
We'll let Mr. Breakfast answer this one...although, if I were you, I'd keep some kind of pocket stain remover with you at all times.
Would you rather sit on the phone with tech support for hours and hours, or be punched in the dick? (Ed Loveall - Boston, MA)
Dick. Definitely dick.
What's the square root of pi? (Anonymous reader)
An incomplete but quick answer would be 1.772453850905516027298167483314. However, as pi itself is an irrational number (meaning that its value cannot be established precisely as a fraction), no true answer really exists. The darn thing just goes on and on forever, never ending. The best that humankind will probably ever get is the approximation I initially gave you. Hope this helps!
